Titus Salt Junior and his Son on the Grand Tour
Talk by: Nicholas Salt
The village of Saltaire was built around the middle of the 19th century by Sir Titus Salt, a philanthropist and leading industrialist in the Yorkshire woollen industry. Today’s talk by his great, great grandson will cover the origins of Saltaire and the Saltaire Institute and then describe the recently discovered records and photographs of the travels of Titus Salt Junior.
A report of the meeting by Clive Barrett is available.
