Our first walk after the second Lockdown was on 26th April 2021. Heading for Shaky Bridge in the hope of seeing the bluebells in Happy Valley on a beautiful, warm, sunny morning, we climbed to the Trig point above the Lake, then followed the lane past Upper Llanoley.
From Shaky Bridge we turned up Happy Valley, but the bluebells were only just opening so we didn’t get to see them at their glorious best. We took the uphill track at the end of the Valley and cut down to Bank House, then made our way through the woods back to the lane we had come down earlier. This time we continued onto the Golf Course Road where we spotted a lovely male Redstart sitting on the electricity wires. We turned down the footpath beside the Clubhouse and back through the woods to the Lake.
