November 2020 Walk – Howey

Leaving the Lake, we walked for a short stretch along the A 483 towards Howey before turning off across the railway bridge towards Dolberthog. We then followed the footpath, which crosses the course of the Roman Road, to Holly Lane.

At the end of Holly Lane, we crossed the A483 to Chapel Road, Howey, and walked past the cottages of Upper Cae Ddu. We continued along the footpath across the fields, passing Pentrosfa Mire on the way to the Old Parish Church. The sheep had made a quagmire around one of the gates, and we found ourselves floundering through deep mud! On reaching the church the group split into two, some opting to walk down the road while the rest of us cut through the woods back to the Lake.
