Walking from the Lake we headed past the Metropole and along Lant Avenue, then followed a footpath across the Common behind the hospital, to join Trefonen Lane at the Noyadd Farm. We headed past a little reservoir and took the right-hand path through the fields towards Bailey-Einon. Reaching Cefn-coed, we looped back along the lower path through the woods and back to the Common.
Here, we followed another footpath till we came out above the pond which fills one of the now disused Llanfawr quarries, before making our way back along a slightly different route to the Lake.
